Our Story
Tonton Bread is more than just a bakery — it’s a celebration of traditional French baking artistry brought to the heart of Surry Hills. Founded by master baker Adrian, our bakery honors time-tested techniques that have been passed down through generations.
Every loaf tells a story of patience, precision, and passion. We believe that great bread cannot be rushed, which is why we use long fermentation processes that take at least 24 hours to develop the complex flavors and textures that define artisanal bread.

Our Process
Long fermentation is part of Tonton’s artisanal process. It enhances flavors, the quality of crust, and the texture of the crumb. All of our breads need at least twenty-four hours to be produced to maintain our standard.
Please order two business days prior to your pick up/delivery day.
This careful attention to time and technique results in bread that’s not only delicious but also easier to digest, with a depth of flavor that simply cannot be achieved through faster methods.
